Protey Temen

a Berlin-based contemporary artist, a multi-disciplinary media artist whose works are often performed in total installations, including graphics, video art, sculpture, and painting (b.1984).

His works revolve around reasoning, memory, and thinking. The art from the “Inner School of Open Studies” is concerned with knowledge. Temen used public tutorials, explanations on napkins and more forms of exact and precision science for the series, which is a combination of art forms on the teaching practices of observation. Much of Temen’s works also focus on abstract identity and dichotomies such as body and spirit, real and abstract, and artificial and natural. According to Temen, the dialogue between such dichotomies allows for new meanings and contexts to emerge.
